Course Structure
ARRIVAL: Sunday – Welcome Dinner in the evening
MORNING SESSIONS: 3 hours of Business English lessons, Monday to Thursday, focusing on Effective Communication Skills. Topics will be selected from the following list:
- Writing formal business letters, reports, emails or faxes.
- Presentation Skills – effectively getting your point across.
- Telephoning skills and techniques.
- Participating in meetings – from one-to-one to larger groups.
- Sales and negotiation skills – getting the deal you want.
- Conducting market research – asking the right questions.
- Describing processes / operations in a business context.
- Dealing with business-related problems / complaints.
- Socialising with colleagues / visitors – using the correct English
- Describing your organisation, its structure and history.
AFTERNOON SESSIONS:
- Monday to Thursday - 2.5 hours of Project Work.
- Conducted in small focus groups.
- Relevant to the delegates’ area of interest.
CLOSING SESSION:
- Project Work Presentations - using skills learnt during the week.
- Certificate Ceremony and Farewell Lunch
DEPARTURE: Late afternoon on Friday.
LOCATION: Delegates will stay at the Marriott Manchester Victoria & Albert Hotel and use the conference facilities for the duration of the course.
MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal, plus unlimited refreshments each day.
ACTIVITIES: An optional outing on the Saturday is available at an extra cost.
Choices include: Liverpool, Chester, Lake District, North Wales, Peak District or London.
